Thank you to Sue Teasley for 35 wonderful years of service.

After a 35-year career with Alaska Air Group Credit Union, Sue Teasley has officially announced her retirement.
Sue began her employment with AAGCU on May 6th, 1991, after already honing her skills in the industry through previous jobs at over seven financial institutions.
Originally working in a part-time position, Sue “did anything they asked me to”. As a jack of all trades, Sue did everything from organizing ledgers, to working collections, to typing up property information on Home Equity Loans, all the while being trained on the teller line. She would even fly up to Anchorage to provide coverage and assistance in the branch as needed.

She eventually transitioned to the loan department full time. She worked as a loan officer until about 2017, when, instead of retiring, she moved to an MSR role, where she finished out her career. “I had so much fun talking to members that I decided to stay,” Sue stated.
“Every one of the positions had something really positive about it,” Sue reminisced. “Every department had its own plus”. Sue shared that in the loan department, she loved that she was able to help people, but on the teller line, she had the opportunity to meet and see more people.

When looking back at her time at AAGCU, a special highlight was her ability to travel. “Getting to do some traveling – that was fun,” Sue shared as she told stories of her visits to Anchorage, as well as doing station visits to share information about the credit union with Alaska Airlines employees, well before AAGCU created a marketing position.
These days, if you visit our SEA branch, you likely have been welcomed by Sue’s caring customer service, her many seasonal sweaters and outfits, Disney themed matching earrings and button-downs, or her generosity with sharing snacks.

The number one thing Sue says learned from her time at AAGCU was to better safeguard her own accounts.
Especially in the last few years as Sue has seen fraudsters evolve and become more technologically savvy, she says that educating members on how to take care of themselves is one of her priorities. “Set up account and fraud alerts, lock your credit down, protect yourself,” she shared.
As her retirement date quickly approaches, Sue says she is excited to “purge and declutter my house. I can hardly wait.”

Sue’s final day with AAGCU will be Tuesday, July 7th. Please join us in wishing Sue a happy retirement. If you would like to pass along well-wishes, please submit the form below, and we will pass them along to Sue.
